Illinois Tool Works Inc. or ITW is an American Fortune 200 company that produces engineered fasteners and components, equipment and consumable systems, and specialty products. It was founded in 1912 by Byron L. Smith. Today, it employs approximately 45,000 people in hundreds of businesses across 53 countries, and is based in Glenview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

A former employee says, "If they [ITW] want to get rid of you, they will either hire someone to work under you, give them a new title and eliminate your position or destroy your self esteem with horrible reviews that no matter what you say, or how hard you work, will never get better, then put you on a "performance plan" that is basically 99% chance of them having "justifiable cause for termination". Theft runs rampant and they refused to install cameras because if they did, it would show they didn't"trust" their employees. It's a dog eat dog environment. Don't trust anyone, especially in HR."

Lots of bullying goes unnoticed, Certain employees pass their workload onto others and get away with doing very little. Certain managers lack real management skills and prefer to listen to gossip and refuse to see the true picture. Some departments are run professionally but unfortunately the customer services office was an unfriendly environment and the manager un-approachable. Appraisals focussed on the few negatives and the many positives went completely unnoticed. Working here caused me to have a nervous breakdown for the first time in my life. I truly regret working here."

"A typical day at ITW would be that you can expect for things to be unorganized when you get to work. I've learned that they will change things at the spare of the moment and they do have poor management. Safety isn't a top priority when working and if injured they never show concern. "I am greatly disturbed that Itworks! company is allowed to take hard working honest peoples money and absolutely nothing is done about it! I ordered a month supply of hair, skin, and nails vitamins the cost was $40 plus including shipping as the distributor advertised. I had trouble placing the order so the distributor set up my account, made the order for me, and took my payment information. A month later Itworks! is taking an unauthorized $40 plus from my account. I talked with the distributor, she was very short with me and said "just hit cancel". I tried doing just as she said and nothing. I ended up writing a complaint on the company site, over a month later no response. Itworks! company tried to take furture unauthorized actions with my account the next month with no success this time. I called the company number listed online day after day never talked to a person but was instructed to go to the site by the automated system. I messaged the distributor she says this is your 3rd payment you can cancel after that. My response was there should not be a 3rd payment on a one time paid purchase???? The distributor never mentioned anything about 3 months of payments for vitamins, I would never concent to this. I'm so glad the whole conversation was done through texting and can be documented. I then go to the Better Business Bureau online to file a complaint and find that the number they have listed for Itworks! is no longer in service. This was false advertising by the distributor and the Itworks company and they should be held accountable for it and the unauthorized money taken from my account. I will never ever purchase any products from this company ever again!"

"F?? this company. They stole $152 and change from my account and refuse to give me my money back. This is the BS response I got from them on messages. Hi Marhanka, We have located your account and we regret to inform you that we are unable to cancel and refund the order (Xxxxxxxx) since it is already in production and is ready to be shipped out. We'd be happy to issue a credit under the normal return policy if you ship the order back. To receive a refund, all products must be returned within 30 days of the ship date in unopened "new" condition. Please don't refuse the order as there is an additional charge, and not all refused orders are successfully returned. We suggest you obtain tracking confirmation; tracking confirmation assures the parcel was returned. Please allow up to 10 business days from receipt at the warehouse to have your return order processed. Moreover, your future autoships have been cancelled. No further charges will be made on your card moving forward. Please note that your account will remain active until your renewal date (August 3rd, 2021). Until this date you may place orders for yourself anytime you wish."

"DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ITWORKS PRODUCTS. Wish I had read reviews before I signed up. Have to buy 3 bottles before you can cancel and return time is one month! with a 3 month subscription you can't return product and cancel to get your money back as the product is shipped monthly. You are charged a 15% restocking fee per bottle plus shipping both ways. If you cancel before the 3 months are up you are charged $50 from your subscription cost. Even if the products don't work there is no satisfaction guaranteed, you're screwed. So you NEVER get your complete monies for any unopened bottle! Trying to do a return now and should have read all the fine print. Just went off what the distributer told me. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, a pyramid scheme at its best. Healthy eating habits & exercise are keys to feeling good."

"This product does not work!!! I have 3 full bottles unopened left!!! The rep told me that the best deal was a buy one get one free....NEVER told me it was an auto ship deal!!! I never lost a pound..... I was also told it would be a money back guarantee...JOKE!!!!"
